About Simone-Clare Hede Simone-Clare Hede first got into the arts through working in theatre, prop making and scenic art. To improve her skills in panting, drawing and sculpting she enrolled in Adelaide Central School of Arts to do the first year basics. The experience of making art for arts sake was enough for her to stay on and complete a Bachelor of Visual Arts and Applied Design in 2008 at the Adelaide Center for the Arts, majoring in ceramics. Simone-Clare's art practice is divided into two parts. Lady Monicle is a range of jewellery and home ware that is decorative, functional and affordable. “My work is about mixing classic styles with a contemporary slant, vintage to tattoo designs, kitsch to comics and a bit of everything in between.” Simone-Clare's exhibition work is conceptually rich and finished with an exciting use of computer generated decal technology and more traditional, skillfully executed ceramic based sgraffito and underglaze painting and printing techniques. All works are hand built and range from large vessels to slab built constructions.
